Manual Garbage Collection Process In active directory : Step By Step

You can use LDP.EXE to do the garbage collection control. Here are the steps:

Step1:

In Ldp.exe, when you click Browse on the Modify menu, leave the Distinguished name box empty.

Step2:

In the Edit Entry Attribute box, type “DoGarbageCollection” (without the quotation marks),

Step3:

In the Values box, type “1” (without the quotation marks).

Step4:

Set the Operation value set to Add and click the Enter button, and then click Run.

Important:

It is possible that the garbage collection you start using the above method could stop in favor of more important tasks like AD replication in the same way as the scheduled garbage collection does.

If that happens you can simply repeat the garbage collection steps above until all of the objects are removed.

You can install Linux apps in Google Chromebook Now !

Google confirms Chromebooks will soon be able to run Linux apps

Chromebook Supports Linux

Developers will be able to write and publish code directly from their Chromebooks.

Google’s Chromebooks will soon be able to run Linux apps and execute Linux commands following the company’s recent announcement that Linux support is coming to Chrome OS.

The company’s flagship Chromebook, the Pixelbook will be the first Chrome OS device to officially support Linux with support for other devices coming soon.

Developers will now be able to write code on Chromebooks using Linux and they will also be able to use Android Studio for Chrome OS to write, test and deploy Android apps all from one device. Until now, developers would have to rely on systems running either Windows, Mac or Linux to create code and software to run on Google’s platforms.

Chrome OS director of product management Kan Liu explained how the company managed to implement Linux support on Chromebooks to VentureBeat, saying:

“We put the Linux app environment within a security sandbox, running inside a virtual machine. We made sure the user experience is seamless to the user. Whether you use a web app, whether you are using an Android app, or whether you are using a Linux app, the window treatment and the way you launch the app from the launcher is the same.”

Linux app support will be made available as a preview first, though this will initially only be on the Pixelbook and users that wish to try it out will have to switch to the Dev channel to do so.

Eventually Google plans to bring this feature to all Chromebooks but users will have to enable it as it will not be turned on by default.
